The USA has a new three-Michelin-star restaurant, after The Inn at Little Washington was awarded the French tyre company's highest honour in the Michelin Guide to Washington, D.C. 2019.
The 40-year-old restaurant and lodge, which is actually located in rural Washington, Va around 90 minutes drive outside of D.C., is the region's first ever three star restaurant in what is its third guide, and the country's 15th. There, chef Patrick O'Connell cooks three seperate tasting menus, combining American ingredients with classic European technique, including a vegetarian menu.
Elswehere both Minibar and Pineapple & Pears remain on two stars, while there are two new, one star restaurants – Bresca and Siren by RW – taking the total of starred restaurants in the Guide to 16.
