The New York Michelin Guide 2021 has been released with seven new one-Michelin-star restaurants joining the list, while the three and two-star listings remain the same.
Most of the restaurants making the one-star grade, after a year of industry turmoil, can be found in Manhattan, including regional Italian restaurant Rezdôra, Italo-American Don Angie, Korean-influenced Jua, Korean skewer restaurant Kochi, kaiseki restaurant Tsukimi and Soho seafood restaurant,Vestry. Meanwhile French/Italian Francie can be found over the bridge in Brooklyn.
Michelin has not downgraded any of the existing five three-star restaurants, including Eleven Madison Park, which recently revealed it will serve a plant-based menu, or any of the 14 two-star restaurants, despite a year of interrupted dining and fractured openings.
Two-Michelin-starred Blue Hill at Stone Barns was the only restaurant to be awarded the first 'green star' for sustainable practices.
