Michelin has released its 2020 selection for Chicago and there are 5 new starred restaurants, all in the West Loop area of the city.
Grant Achatz’s Alinea retains its three-star status while the group’s spin-off restaurant Next also got acknowledged with one star.
There are three in the two-star category Acadia, Smyth and Oriole. Oriole opened their highly anticipated bar Kumiko this year, to great acclaim and its downstairs tasting counter Kikkō, in the luxury cocktail bar also got awarded one star.
Japanese cuisine features heavily in the Chicago Michelin Guide 2020 with B.K. Park’s Mako getting a star as does chef Sangtae Park’s Omakase Yume and Yūgen with an all-female team, serving Janpanese influenced cuisine also gets one star.
