The James Beard Foundation Awards will take place this evening in Chicago with some of the best chefs, restauranteurs, sommeliers and servers across America in attendance.
The annual awards highlight America’s best culinary stars with awards covering a range of different categories. The JBF Awards are often touted as the Oscars of the culinary world, marked by a star-studded ceremony thats sees culinary greats and emerging talents sharing the same stage.
The Rising Star Award, sponsored by S.Pellegrino, highlights the best up and coming chefs in the American food industry. The award is for people 30 or younger who are ‘likely to make a significant impact on the industry in years to come.’ Previous winners have included: Daniella Sotto-Innes, David Chang and Cristina Tossi.
This year's nominees stretch from coast-to-coast, from high-end fine dining to delicious pastries, Mediterranean flavors to subtle sushi bites. Below you can meet each of the 2018 Nominees, joined by their fellow mentor.
