The sound of the postman. It's the usual bills, a postcard from the one person you know who still sends postcards, credit card junk ... But then, what's this? A carefully selected bottle of wine delivered straight through your letterbox? Cheers postie!
That's right, a London start-up has developed a flat full-sized wine bottle that fits neatly through your letterbox, and will be sitting waiting for you when you arrive back from work gasping for a quality vino.
Joe Revell of of wine subscription service Garçon Wines developed the Bordeaux-style 750ml flat plastic wine bottle, which is slightly longer than a conventional bottle, to appeal to 18-40 year old urban dwelling professionals, who are keen to experiment with different drops, but aren't able to take delivery during work hours.
As it says on the company's website: "We all work hard, come home at the end of a long day and see a pile of post we don’t really want to face. Now imagine there was a bottle of wine waiting on your doormat instead of those dreaded bills …"
The bottles arrive in completely post-proof packaging and stack easily, but are only available in the UK currently.
