WHY SHOULD I MAKE GINGER JUICE?
Ginger is recognized as a natural medicine for its energizing effects. It is usually used to control influenza conditions or to stimulate the body.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), ginger juice could cure colds and flu. It is also effective in calming nausea and digestive disorders.
HOW TO PREPARE GINGER'S JUICE?
Preparing fresh ginger juice is not very complicated.
For 4 people, you will need:
1 kg (2 lbs) of ginger
4 liters (1 quart) of water
500 g (2 cups) of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Mint leaves
3 lemons
Start by peeling the ginger with a spoon and give it a rough chop. Place it in a blender and puree with enough water to form a thick juice. Juice the lemons and add to the ginger water mix.
Pour the mix into a large bowl and add the rest of the water. Leave to stand for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile place the sugar and one cup of water in a saucepan and simmer until the liquid becomes clear. Allow to cool and add vanilla extract and mint. Mix well to incorporate.
Strain the ginger juice and mix with the sugar syrup. Refrigerate.
HOW TO DRINK GINGER JUICE
Ginger juice can be consumed as it is. It can also be added to herbal teas, in fruit juices or served with a little cinnamon.
