Big news coming out of New York with the announcement that Daniel Humm and Will Guidara are getting ready to open a second NoMad Hotel, this time in LA.
Based in Downtown LA, the new NoMad Hotel will be inside the Giannini Building - a place that was once home to the Bank of Italy and the Bank of America.
Speaking about the exciting news, Guidara said: “It's a rare opportunity to get to bring a place such as NoMad across the country, especially to a building that is just as gorgeous and storied as our original home here in NY. Downtown LA is a neighbourhood not unlike NoMad and that's something that was important to us. We want to contribute to the revitalisation, but also maintain some of that timelessness found in the Giannini building. I'm also retracing some of my early roots in the jobs was at Spago. It'll be nice to get back to where I started and to the sunshine."
Chef Humm added: "It's great to finally share the news of the opening in LA, we've just been so excited for what's to come and it has been hard to keep things quiet. It's an incredible city with a great culinary landscape and we have fallen in love with the downtown neighbourhood. Really looking forward to being a part of Los Angeles and not only bringing NoMad to the diners of the city, but learning from all that the city has to offer such as the culture, art, food, and ingredients. Can't wait to start cooking in LA, it's going to be a lot of fun."
The project is obviously a massive undertaking and is not expected to open unit Fall 2017.
