The Grand Gelinaz! Shuffle Two (2) came, saw and conquered on 10 and 11 November as 40 world class chefs were dispatched to restaurants across five continents, for a frenzied 24 hours of cooking in multiple time zones for a lucky few assembled guests – the longest dinner ever.
Massimo Bottura headed to Hedone in London, while his own Osteria Francescana was manned by Christopher Kostow of San Francisco's Meadowood. Dominique Crenn cooked up a storm at Nahm in Bangkok, while Alex Atala headed down under to Momofuku Seibo in Sydney in what was the second event of its kind from Gelinaz! An extra layer of tension was added due to the identity of each chef being kept a secret from the guests until right before the start of each dinner.
Imagine guests' delight then when Virgilio Martinez was unveiled as the guest chef at Narisawa in Tokyo, while Rodolfo Guzman headed to McCrady's in Charleston, South Carolina, and Ana Roš, from Hiša Franko in Slovenia, pitched up at Copenhagen's Relae – read our recent interview with Ana here.
As you can imagine, 40 top chefs all going full throttle in the kitchen meant some stunning plates being turned out. Check out some of the highlights below, including some spectacular-looking food, and head on over to the Fine Dining Lovers Grand Gelinaz Shuffle Two (2) Social Wall, which was running throughout the event to see more.
