Bjorn Frantzen, one half of the restaurant Frantzen Lindeberg in Sweden, has confirmed that he will split with business partner of five years Daniel Lindeberg.
The pair started the Frantzen Lindeberg restaurant together with Bjorn as chef and Daniel as pastry chef and rapidly gained notoriety around the world for their dedicated approach to sourcing the perfect ingredients and cooking them with great technical ability.
The restaurant was 12th on the 2013 World's 50 Best Restaurants list and speaking with FDL, after today's announcement, Bjorn said it was a good time to finally make moves on something they had been discussing for a long time.
He added: "After five amazing years together it's time to move on, there's a date and time for everything in life and today is that day. It's business as usual at the restaurant and several exciting projects are also on the way. I eagerly look forward to following what Daniel does in the future."
It seems the parting has been amicable and something discussed for sometime. Bjorn has had a documentary film crew following him around for the past year but there's no word on whether they filmed during the months in the lead up to the split.
Speaking about the news, Daniel said: "It has been five absolutely amazing years but in the immediate future I want to focus on finding a small bakery in Nacka with the ambition to open sometime around 2013. I wish Bjorn and the team all the luck in the future."
