It's the ongoing joke, men with big beards have them so they can store food within their hairy nests to snack on whenever they get peckish. Ok, it's a little far fetched but we have all at some point spotted someone with food stuck in their beard only to crack the joke as if it was our own original gag.
It seems that the joke also inspired this set of unique plates designed by the artist Phil Jones who has created a range of plates called Food in My Beard.
The designs feature different beard styles with the illusion given that diners are actually eating food discovered within the hair.
It's a little off putting for those who are squeamish but makes a great talking point at the table and is sure to make at least a few guest laugh.
