With their dark ruby color, cherries are the darlings of summer fruit. Whether sweet or sour, they are beloved for their flavor. But cherries aren't just for eating, they are also making a splash in the fashion world.
Case in point? The lovely shimmery gold and green sandals by Miu Miu pictured above. These designer cherry sandals, which sell for $600, are one of the many encarnations of summer fruit on the runway.
Last fall Dolce & Gabbana unveiled their 2012 spring/summer collection inspired by Italian pasta and produce - which made their way onto dresses and accesories. It seems food is the new fashion. Do you agree?
