It seems Hollywood can make anything happen - even reopen elBulli, Spain's most acclaimed restaurant which closed in July 2011.
News of the restaurant's reopening is a dream come true for fans of chef Ferran Adria but getting a reservation will be nearly impossible. The restaurant will reopen in the fall for just one month in an effort to train the actors who will be featured in the upcoming El Bulli movie.
The El Bulli film, which now has a producer and screenwriter, will be a fictional adaptation of Lisa Abend's book The Sorcerers Apprentices, a Season in the Kitchen at Ferran Adria's elBulli.
''In order to make this movie as authentic as possible, Ferran has agreed to [reopen], and to me, to thnk that I could have a part in resurrecting elBulli for one more month to give people that one last opportunity to dine there, that makes me almost as happy as being able to make the movie,'' producer Jeff Kleeman told The Daily Meal.
During the four-week reopening, actors will be working in the kitchen and front of the house serving food to real customers (who will most likely be handpicked by film producers).
There's no word yet as to who will play Adria and who will direct the film. We'll keep you posted as the story continues to unfold...
