A team trained at elBulli is bringing Spanish cuisine to Singapore in the form of a floating restaurant. The aptly named Catalunya sits on a glass-encased dome floating in the city's Marina Bay.
Although the management staff spent years training at elBulli, the cuisine at Catalunya won't feature molecular gastronomy in the stye of the great Ferran Adriá. Instead, Catalunya serves contemporary dishes that reflect the diversity of Spanish cuisine.
The former elBulli team is made up of executive chef Alain Devahive Tolosa, who spent a decade working at the restaurant and elBulli catering, and restaurant manager Pol Perelló, who was the director of communications and restaurant manager at elBulli for 12 years. Expect only phenomal things from these two and they pair with award-winning mixologist Dario Nocentini.
The 4,300 square-foot (1,310 sq meters) restaurant is situated in the Fullerton Pavilion and offers a posh yet cozy atmosphere for 120 guests. To add even more excitement, its location offers diners a 360 degree view of the city skyline. This way you can enjoy your Spanish feast with a breathtaking view of Singapore.
