How do you feel eating alone? Many people really don't like the idea of sitting down to dine on their own and this two day pop-up restaurant in Amsterdam played on exactly this.
Called Een Maal, the pop-up was a single person restaurant meaning that those who wanted to eat their had to do so alone.
A few sparse tables accompanied by just one chair were dotted around the room. Speaking about the project the social designer, Marina van Goor, said it's "an exciting experiment for those who never go out dining alone, as well as an appealing opportunity for those who often eat alone at restaurants.”
We personally advocate dining with friends at FDL and think the best meals are those that are shared, however, we like the idea of this pop-up for highlighting the social negatives attached to dining alone.
