Now this is an interesting little device: a stylish electric food warmer that doubles as a heater for your hands and feet. Designed to sit neatly on your desk, dining table, or wherever else you choose to work and eat in or outside of the office, the Solaris lamp can easily be rested on its side, and is one of the most contemporary–looking food warmers we’ve seen.

The work of Singapore-based Creativeans, an interdisciplinary design and branding company, the Solaris desktop food warmer is part of a wider collection called ‘The Missing Dining Table,’ which “explores the way we dine today and serves as an inspiration for possible alternative dining conventions for the future.” The collection includes disposable cutlery shaped as plants and coral, a dual sided plate, and a trolley that doubles as an al fresco dining table (below).

The Solaris is still in the prototype stage currently, having already been shown at Milan Design Week, but with more and more people eating at their desks, this is sure to grab the attention of the busy, but hungry worker. We're certainly warming to the idea.
