The people who brought you the hugely popular cheese conveyor belt, Pick & Cheese, have unveiled their next cheesy project on the water. It’s the Cheese Barge and it will be docked in Paddington.
The barge will be permanently moored at Grand Union Canal and will be two storeys of cheese heaven on a boat designed by Adam Richards Architects, and inspired by the Electa bookstore in Venice.
The cheese-heavy menu has been created by head chef Reagan Ellenbroek and exec chef Ross Keeling based on "honest British dishes using small-producer cheese".
Cheese lovers can climb aboard to enjoy dishes like fried cheddar curds curried and tossed in chilli honey, goats’ curd with lamb scrumpets and pickled walnuts, medjool dates stuffed with stilton and wrapped in bacon, Yorkshire curd tart and a Malted Milk chocolate cremeux.
Seasonal British cheese will also feature in abundance, as well as cheese sharing plates.
