Before Bruce Springsteen performed for 70,000 fans at San Siro stadium in Milan yesterday, he got a very unexpected surprise. The Boss was welcomed to the executive lounge for stadium refreshments where he was greeted by a guitar made of Modica chocolate.
The chocolate instrument was a Fender equal in shape and size to singer's very own guitar. It was entirely decorated by hand and the result a month-long process undertaken by the famed Fiasconaro Brothers from Sicily. When coming face to face with a faithful reproduction of his guitar the singer-songwriter exclaimed in amazement: ''Oh My God!''
The Fiasconaro Brothers were not only in charge of the reproduction of the guitar, but also of preparing the refreshments for1,000 guests. The menu included sweets from the nine provinces of Sicily as a homage to Springsteen's music and his Sicilian roots.
It was an exciting gathering for both Springsteen and the Fiasconaro Brothers. Luckily, the siblings have a souvenir photo to remember their encounter with one of the biggest icons of rock music through the ages.
