Michelin–starred chef Guy Martin’s I Love Paris at Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport has been named the Best In-Airport Restaurant Worldwide at the Airport Food and Beverage (FAB) Conference and Awards 2016. Open since 2015, it serves classic French dishes such as blanquette de veau and pot-au-feu, as well as burgers and seafood.
Martin’s homage to Paris takes its inspiration from his famous Le Grand Véfour eatery in the city, which serves the kind of rich French classics that make Francophiles tremble with glee and has been the setting for Hollywood films.
Honorable mention was also given to Gordon Ramsay's Plane Food at London Heathrow's Terminal 5. Copenhagen was named the best overall airport for food and beverages at the ceremony in Geneva.
Suddenly, that long wait at the airport doesn’t seem so arduous. No word on how many people have missed flights as a result of a visit to I Love Paris.
