The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) have teamed up to launch the third edition of the 50 Best BBVA Scholarship, which will give winning aspiring chefs the chance of three six-week stages in Mirazur in France, Leo in Colombia and The Test Kitchen in South Africa in 2020. Applications are open today.
The winner of the 50 Best BBVA Scholarship will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend six weeks periods learning from the very best in the world. The scholarship recipient will start out with a six-week kitchen internship in the number 1 restaurant on the World’s 50 Best list Mirazur in France under the guidance of Mauro Colagreco.
The Scholarship recipient will then travel to Cape Town, South Africa, to work alongside chef Luke Dale-Roberts at The Test Kitchen, which was voted The Best Restaurant in Africa 2019. They will undertake their final stage with Latin America’s Best Female Chef 2017 Leonor Espinosa at her restaurant Leo in Bogotá, Colombia.
In addition to the stages, the recipient will flown to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2020 awards ceremony on Tuesday, 2nd June in Antwerp, Belgium where they will be presented with the scholarship in front of the luminaries of the world of gastronomy.
The scholarship will be decided by a three stage judging process and all details and T&Cs are available on the scholarship portal. Applications should be submitted by Friday, 20th December 2019.
