It hasn't even been a week since MAD Symposium 2013, aka MAD3, wrapped up but the culinary world is abuzz with news next year's event will be co-curated by Brazilian chef Alex Atala.
René Redzepi from Noma made the big announcement during the closing of MAD3. Atala, a two-time MAD speaker wrapped up the symposium by killing a chicken onstage (and later butchered and fried it) as a homage to this year's Guts theme.
Atala was among the star studded list of culinary professionals invited to speak at the two-day event held in Copenhagen. Other guests included Alain Ducasse, David Chang, Roy Choi, Vandana Shiva and Diana Kennedy.
Earlier this year, the Atala was named in Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people in the world and his restaurant D.O.M. earned the sixth spot on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
It will be interesting to see what Atala, who is known for cooking with Amazonian ingredients, will bring to the table next year. The team at MAD has yet to post videos of this year's event but we'll keep you posted as events unfold.
