A night of change was predicted outside London’s Guildhall by all in attendance and a night of change is exactly what was delivered on the 2015 edition of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna. It was the Roca Brothers of El Celler De Can Roca in Spain who were the big winners on the night regaining the title as the best restaurant in the world after slipping to second in 2014.
René Redzepi, who has claimed the number one spot on the list on a total of four different occasions dropped from first place to third, swapping places with Massimo Bottura from Italy whose Osteria Francescana restaurant is now at number two on the list. Virgilio Martinez from the Central restaurant in Peru entered the top 10 for the first time, flying into fourth position. He was followed by Eleven Madison Park in fifth (here is the full list). There was new entries, emotional speeches and, at least for Fine Dining Lovers, the chance to speak to the chefs about the first time they ever entered the list.
