Fish and chips, the classic staple of British cuisine, folklore and many a friday supper. Although the popularity of fish and chips is slowly starting to fade, the hardcore remain and it’s with this in mind that Seafish have set about a mission to find the best fish and chip shop in the UK.
Below is a list of the 20 finalist for the National Fish and Chip Shop of the Year.
The 20 independent finalists will now be assessed by a team of experts on a number of criteria, from sustainable sourcing to marketing, customer service and overall quality of their fish and chips.
The latest shortlist for the 27th annual award drops just days after the news that Upton Chippie in Gainsborough (pictured above) would feature in the 2015 Good Food Guide alongside some of the UK’s best restaurants.
