Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year, cooking up a feast for family and friends? Anxious about the turkey, timings or trimmings?
Then, you're not alone. No matter how much preparation goes into this day of cooking and feasting, Thanksgiving mistakes in the kitchen are inevitable, in fact, it could even be considered a day of national cooking blunders
In a new survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by OnePoll on behalf of America’s Original Butcher, Omaha Steaks 63 per cent of respondents said "Thanksgiving dinner never goes exactly as planned".
Timing is the most common failing with 60.59 per cent of respondents unable to get all the food ready on time, butterfingers and spilling a dish on the floor also ranks highly at 27.84 per cent as does forgetting an essential ingredient (27.52 per cent).
Unsurprisingly, cooking the turkey correctly holds the biggest fear of the day with over half of those surveyed (56 per cent) saying it's the hardest thing about Thanksgiving. In fact, nearly 76 per cent admitted that Thanksgiving would be a much more pleasurable event if all the cooking was already done!
That said 77 per cent of respondents do spend between 2-5 hours preparing their Thanksgiving meal, and those are the ones that still face ‘Thanksgiving Fails’!
With that in mind ... as Thanksgiving preparations kick in around the world ... it's time to embrace a day when for many, the cooking doesn't always go as planned in our favourite selection of #Thanksgivingfails! Happy Thanksgiving!
