Mauro Colagreco, whose restaurant Mirazur was recently awarded #1 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2019 list, opened his first pizzeria, Pecora Nera,('Black Sheep' in Italian), in Menton, this summer.
A new type of establishment for the chef, it is a way to pay tribute to his Italian roots. "We assume our originality, especially as it comes from the cultural mix that identifies us and the openness that we consider to be a primordial quality".
As for all of his restaurants, Mauro Colagreco focuses on the quality of produce and continues his commitment to small local producers.
Pecora Nera is perfectly located at the edge of the Mediterranean, in front of the harbour, on the new Esplanade des Sablettes, "an emblematic and popular place that inspires us and allows us to accompany families and vacationers in the joy of summer and throughout the year," says Colagreco.
What’s on the menu? Well, pizza, of course, which respect seasonality to ensure quality and flavours on the plate.
"We make our dough in the state of the art using high-quality flour, our pizzas are baked in a wood oven, which is why they are very light, digestible and crispy."
The secret ingredient? Mauro Colagreco's creativity; the daily dedication of Paulo Corsi and the experience of our master pizzaiolo Nicola. "
Where? Pecora Nera, Gordon Bennet Quay, Menton.
