Garlic
4 cloves
Ginger
3 tsp, freshly grated
Turmeric
5 tbsp
Greek yoghurt
50 ml
Monkfish
800 g, fillets, ready to cook, chopped into bite-sized pieces
Oil
for deep-frying
Onion
2, large, peeled and sliced into fine strips
Chili pepper
1 red, deseeded and finely diced
Dill
from a large bunch of dill

Preparation

Cha-Ca La Vong Recipe From Hanoi, Vietnam

To prepare cha-ca la vong recipe, an iconic fish-based dish from Hanoi (Vietnam), first crush the garlic and mix with the ginger, turmeric and yogurt.

Add the fish, mix well and marinate for around 5 minutes.

Heat plenty of oil in a high-sided frying pan and fry the fish pieces for 3 minutes.

Add the onions and chilli and fry together for 1-2 minutes.

Add the dill shortly before serving.

Arrange cha-ca la vong in bowls and serve with wedges of lime.
