'Food on the Edge' 2-day symposium: Ireland Focuses on the Future
Irish chef JP McMahon has invited top international colleagues and food leaders to gather in Galway at an inspiring international event on the 'Future of Food'.
Brainchild of Michelin starred chef, JP McMahon (pictured above), Food on the Edge is set to be an exciting two day symposium held in Ireland on the 19th and 20th October 2015: chef McMahon has invited top international colleagues and food leaders to gather in Galway, in what will be a coming together of some great minds in the industry.
The aim of the event, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, is to debate and challenge perspectives and connections with food. Participants will enter into a forum of discovery together with the intention of going 'to the edge' and discovering new ideas, under the theme of the 'Future of Food'. Over 40 speakers will be given 15 minute slots througout the two days to deliver their unique perspective on some of the most complex food issues of our time. Speakers with include S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 winner Mark Moriarty, along with his S.Pellegrino competition mentor, chef Clare Smyth, as well as chefs Albert Adrià and André Chiang to name but a few.
The concluding night will culminate in an 'Over the Edge' party where there will be much hair letting down after the hard hitting debates of the previous days. A night of fun, food and entertainment is promised.
Self confessed, 'obsessive educationalist' JP McMahon hopes that the event will encourage young chefs to stay in Ireland as well as putting Irish food on the international food map. Watch JP explain his intentions for the Food on the Edge event in the video below:
