The Chork is, as it sounds, a hybrid of the fork and chopsticks and is aimed at those of us, who, though we like to think of ourselves as masters of the latter implement, actually end up getting really frustrated at our inability to grab the more fiddly morsels of food with it and end up reaching for a fork anyway.
Made of high impact polystyrene, the Chork has a four–pronged fork at one end and chopsticks at the other, held together by a small spring. It comes in both red and black, and can be snapped apart to serve solely as conventional chopsticks.
Fortune reports that at least one major restaurant chain is planning to introduce the chopsticks fork, so you may be seeing it at an eatery near you very soon, all going well.
It certainly takes away the embarrassment of having to ask for a fork after you realise your chopstick skills aren’t quite as advanced as you hoped, or you’ve just accidently launched a piece of food onto a nearby table/dropped it in your lap.
We feel your pain – let’s talk Chork.
Here’s a handy video from The Washington Post demonstrating the Chork and here are photos of people using it over on Instagram.
