Bangkok, Thailand will soon have its own Michelin Guide.
Michelin has signed a partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, meaning we should see the Guide by the close of 2017. According to BK, the guide will expand across Thailand for later editions.
Bangkok recently had eight entries on the 2017 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list, including three times winner Gaggan, Gaggan Anand's eponymous restaurant. You can also expect the likes of David Thompson's Nahm and Sühring to feature on Michelin's first foray into Thailand.
2016 saw the release of the inaugural Michelin Guide to Singapore and we wonder whether the Bangkok guide will adopt a similar approach by taking the city's enviable street food scene into account?
There are now – including Thailand – six Asian countries with a Guide: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and South Korea.
