The Michelin Guide for Italy 2016 has been released with the big news being that two new restaurant received their second star - the Gourmetstube Einhorn in Bolzano and Casa Perbellini in Verona.
There were no changes at the very top as the three star category remained the same with the country retaining eight restaurants with the highest possible rating. However, there were 26 restaurants that entered the guide with one star, 24 new entries and two establishments, Grinzane Cavour and Lamporecchio, that moved locations and retained stars.
As for shocks, just one big one as Davide Scabin’s Combal.Zero restaurant in Turin was demoted from two stars to one.
In total, the Michelin Guide for Italy 2016 contains eight restaurants with three stars, 38 restaurants with two stars and a massive 288 restaurants with one star.
