Daniel Boulud has been picked as the winner of the Lifetime Achievment award ahead of The World’s 50 Best Restauants ceremony taking place June 1st in London.
The French chef who conquered the U.S. with his Daniel restaurant in New York was picked for his contribution to “entrepreneurship, service culture and embracing new ideas”.
Speaking about the award the chef said: ““To me this award is maybe my mid-life achievement award…Because I have a lot more to prove in this world of cooking. I think we are in the most beautiful industries where there’s so much passion, so much dedication and so much reward for everyone.”
Boulud joins previous lifetime achievement winners Alain Ducasse, Thomas Keller and Fergus Henderson and will be presented his award at the World’s 50 Best Restaurants ceremony in June.
