The makers of Constructing Albert, a documentary about famous Spanish chef Albert Adrià, are seeking funding to complete their much-awaited film.
Constructing Albert documents the life of Albert in the years after the closing of elBulli, which he manned with brother Ferran Adrià. Unlike Ferran, who shot to international stardom, Albert has remained in the shadows until now. The documentary aims to showcase his talent.
Albert has multiple projects in the works and has been lauded for his tapas restaurant Tickets, along with other eateries like 41 Degrees and Pakta. He and Ferran recently announced plans to open a new restaurant in Ibiza.
Constructing Albert is being produced by Unto and Trueday Films, two production companies based in Barcelona. The crew spent two years filming Albert in and out of the kitchen. However, post-production costs total 100,000 euros so they’ve turned to crowd funding.
