Nearly 1,700 people gathered in Belgium for the largest wine tasting in the world, establishing a new Guiness World Record. Belgians swirled, sniffed and tasted a series of wines and cheese at the Charleroi stadium for La Plus Grand Degustation de Vin du Monde, an event supported by Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino.
During the event, created by the best sommelier of Belgium Eric Boschman, a total of 900 bottles of wine, 250 bottles of champagne and 18,000 pieces of cheese were consumed by the crowd of 1,692 food lovers.
Attendees also consumed 3,000 bottles of water and 4,500 pieces of bread. Now, that's a big record to overcome!
