Watch the live stream of the ceremony for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, sponsored byS.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, here on 20 June 2023. This year the awards’ unveiling will take place at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, in the Spanish city of Valencia.
The ceremony will kick off at 8.40pm CEST and will see the most notable names in world gastronomy walk the red carpet before taking their place in the auditorium where they will count down the list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants from 50-1, unveiling the winner of the world’s most coveted restaurant award at the end.
As usual, the build-up to the awards ceremony has included a list of individual awards: the One to Watch award, which went to chef Kwame Onwuachi for his New York restaurant Tatiana. The award for the World’s Best Female Chef went to Elena Reygadas for her work at one of Mexico City’s outstanding restaurants, Rosetta. Basque innovator Andoni Luis Aduriz picked up the Icon Award for his incredible work at Mugaritz.
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list has, in recent years, been expanded to include the list of 51-100. The extended list includes exceptional restaurants that, while not making the final 50, are recognised for outstanding achievement in gastronomy with many up-and-coming with the potential to climb the list in the coming years.
