Asador Etxebarri is on many gastronomes' lists of dream restaurants to visit. Situated in the tiny village of Axpe in the Basque countryside, the restaurant is a temple to fire cooking: chef Victor Agunizoniz has spent years perfecting his methods, devising his own bespoke cooking equipment that has even allowed him to grill caviar. His cooking has propelled the restaurant to number six on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list.
It's also one of the restaurants featured in the third season of The Trip, the Michael Winterbottom-directed comedy-drama that follows actors Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as they undertake gastronomic journeys around the UK, Italy and now Spain.
In the teaser clip below, Coogan and Brydon are sitting down for lunch at Asador Etxebarri, where their meal starts with the restaurant's famous goats milk butter and a buffalo cheese. Coogan is blown away, describing the butter as "life-affirming" a sentiment anyone who's very ever visited the restaurant will surely share.
