The D'Espresso in New York City is a tiny coffee shop with a very special quirk: it was designed to look like an upside down library.
Although books appear to line the walls, ceilings and floors, it's all an illusion caused by custom-made tiles. The sepia-colored tiles were inspired by a nearby branch of the New York Public Library. The cool design was conceived by nemaworkshop.
D'Espresso has two locations in Manhattan: one on Stanton Street in the Lower East Side and another on Madison Avenue in Midtown East, which backs up to Grand Central Terminal.
So far, owner Eugene Kagansky has said he plans to expand his business with many more locations. When he does, we'll be sure to let you know if there's a D'Espresso near you.
