The American TV show The Taste which features Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain has been commissioned for launch in the UK.
The show, which has been a hit in the U.S, features a number of contestants who are paired with mentors Lawson and Bourdain. From here team compete in a range of challenges before the final test test in which blindfolded mentors must choose their favorite dishes from just one mouthful of food.
The UK version of the show will also feature the French chef Ludo Lefbvre. It will air as a series of 10 x 60 minute episodes.
Speaking about channel four's acquisition of the show, Head of Formats, Dominic Bird, said: "The Taste promises to be a hugely exciting and compelling competition with stellar talent and exceptional cooking at its heart."
The UK version of the show is set to air in 2014 with the company also acquiring the rights to broadcast the U.S. version of the show.
