The Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes has opened a new restaurant in London and it’s getting great reviews across the press.
Hot off his stint at Chiltern Firehouse, Mendes, originally of Viajante, the infamous Loft Project and The Corner Room, the lauded chef has now opened a Portuguese restaurant near Spitalfields Market in London.
Called Taberna do Mercado, the place offers a true Portuguese menu with cured meats, lots of fish and wonderful homemade sausages.
Mendes takes traditional dishes and adds his wealth of technique to sprinkle some modern magic across the menu.
It’s great to see a chef who has so much experience and a chef who has been successful at so many different levels across London, taking all that and returning to his roots. An experience you shouldn’t miss.
