Italian homeware brand Alessi is releasing a new collection of Alessi products based around the theme of the circus, a collaboration with designer Marcel Wanders. The Alessi Circus collection is based on five circus characters, including Marcello the strongman as a nutcracker and a jester corkscrew called Gilberto.
As Dezeen reports, each figure is limited to 999 pieces each, while the Alessi dinnerware collection will also include 29 tableware and kitchen products.
According to Wanders, “The circus is that sensory experience that never leaves you. It's magical. It's mystical. It's larger than life. That's what we capture in this collection – that one-of-a-kind spectacle.”

Personally, the circus scared the bejesus out of me as a child, but perhaps others have happier memories.
The brand has previously collaborated with designers like Philipe Starck, and also Wanders on their Dressed collection of Alessi products.
The Alessi Circus collection will be launched at Harrods during the London Design Festival, 17– 25 September 2016.
