If the festive period has left you thinking your kitchen kit is due an update, you might just want to check out these stylish new tools fresh from France.
French designer and architect Philippe Starck, known also for his iconic hotel and restaurant design worldwide, has applied his eye for design to some kitchen drawer essentials.
Working in collaboration with Degrenne, a French tableware brand, the well known designer has taken simple kitchen utensils and cutlery and given them an understated design twist, all inspired by the humble vegetable peeler.
Updating the look and feel of the century-old beloved peeler (L'Econome by Starck), Starck became inspired him to design a set of knives on a similar theme (Tools of the Kitchen) plus a streamlined cutlery collection, known simply as 'Le Starck'. Naturally, the choice of colours is inspired by regional produce including turnip, artichoke and black truffle.
So, if your kitchen is crying out for some affordable design pieces you can see the full range here.
