Mauro Colagreco from the two-Michelin-starred Mirazur restaurant in Menton, France, is set to open a restaurant inside Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.
The Argentinian chef joins a whole list of chefs who have turned their skills to restaurants inside airports. Gordon Ramsay operates a restaurant inside London’s Heathrow airport and he was more recently joined by Heston Blumenthal and The Perfectionists’ Cafe - also in Heathrow.
Colagreco’s new restaurant will be called L’Estivale, located in Terminal 2 the chef says it will serve a menu inspired by local food, flavours and his travels from around the world.
Planned to open in June 2017, the new restaurant will allow travellers to sample a range of dishes in a bistro-style restaurant that is both ‘rustic and modern’.
For anyone thinking the Côte d’Azur is only for the rich and famous, the chef reports the menu will contain a range of tapas starters that are all priced under five euros. He’s also promises some ‘grandmother-style desserts’.
Colagreco will be joined by Jamie Oliver who will be opening one a Jamie’s Italian in the same terminal.
