If you're a food lover looking for the ultimate excuse to book those flights to Vegas, Modernist Cuisine Gallery taking up a permanant residency in Vegas, could be just the ticket.
Opening its doors at the Forum Shops at Ceasars Palace just last month the gallery also boasts the title of the "first gallery in the world to focus solely on food photography by a single artist."
Fans of the ground breaking images from Nathan Myhrvold and his team at Modernist Cuisine will recognise the stunning larger than life high quality images that they have become so well known for, including the epic Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking.
“I have been deluged by requests to sell prints of photography featured in my books since Modernist Cuisine was published. My team and I explored the best way to do so and our interest piqued when the opportunity to open a gallery in The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace presented itself,” Myhrvold commented.
And in the same vein as their self published books the team also retain absolute autonomy with their new venture: "We could have chosen to exhibit our pictures in established art galleries, but we decided to take the same approach we have always taken—doing things in our own way. Building our own retail gallery affords us the ability to lavish care on every aspect of discovering, owning, and displaying one of our pictures" they say on their website.
Entrance is free allowing visitors to feast their eyes and empty their wallets on the variety limited edition prints prints for sale, starting at around $1000, and are also available for shipping worldwide.
The photography includes images featured in Modernist Cuisine books plus new works that will debut at the gallery’s opening.
