From the knife and the fork moving onto the spork and beyond - we've seen a number of cutlery inventions at FDL HQ and this one from the cutlery company Studio William has caught our eye.
Described as multifunctional and sensual tool that can be used to coop, prong and even slice dessert, the leaf is beautifully designed and sure to get guests talking at the table.
It's made from stainless steal and finished with a brushed surface. This provides a unique experience for those using the leaf as the textured material provides a new feeling on the tongue.
The Leaf was picked up after winning the Studio William National Cutlery Design Competition and was designed by Anabela Chan from the Royal College of Art.
The design will be on view at the Victoria and Albert Museum during London's Design Festival from 14 - 23 September 2012.
