La Liste Reveals World's Best Pastry Shops

On 5 September, La Liste held its annual garden party at La Maison de l'Amérique Latine in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, where Hélène Pietrini and her team unveiled the brand new La Liste app, as well as the first list of the best pastry shops in the world.

For the first time, La Liste has listed more than 700 pastry shops, spread across 60 countries around the world. "It is not a ranking with a first place, because the idea is to federate the world of pastry," said Pietrini. The places concerned can be classic patisseries such as coffee shops, bakeries, places offering afternoon tea, or even dessert restaurants.

According to French patissier Pierre Hermé, this list makes sense because pastry is indeed taking more and more space on the gastronomic scene. The 'Picasso of pastry' observed that today, more tourists come to Paris in search of good pastries, as well as good restaurants, "a phenomenon that did not exist there a few more years."

The new La Liste app

Pietrini also took advantage of the occasion to present the new La Liste app, which will be released in a few days. It will make it possible to geolocate restaurants and pastisseries near you in 200 countries. “You can search by category of establishment, but also by name or keyword depending on the specialties sought,” she said.
