When Hiša Franko entered the first Slovenian Michelin guide with two stars, chef Ana Roš and her team, who lived together during the lockdown, decided to celebrate with a group tattoo session.
Roš had two Michelin stars tattooed on her fingers, while other crew members picked different spots to mark the momentous occasion.
“I have never had tattoos in my life. It’s my first tattoos in the form of Michelin stars,” said the chef, adding that she escaped a press conference to take part in the team tattoo session to “get the two stars on my fingers”.
We didn’t dare to ask what happens if they lose a star, but we noticed the self-taught chef, who put Slovenian gastronomy on the global map, did leave space on her index finger for the third.
Here she is talking about what the crew learned together during the quarantine, and how they worked to preserve nearly 40 different products from their local food chain.
