Cronut king Dominique Ansel has come up with a pastry that blends two American summertime favorites: pretzels and lobsters.
Aptly called the Pretzel ''Lobster Tail,'' the dessert is a pull-apart pretzel rolled into a lobster shape and stuffed with peanut butter and buttercrunch brittle. It is served sprinkled with Maldon sea salt and a side of whipped brown-butter-honey sauce, according to Time Out New York.
The new pastry will go on sale at Ansel's SoHo bakery August 9th and will sell for $8. This is the chef's latest followup to other unique treats like canned ice cream sundaes, cookie shots and the Waffogato.
Ansel's plans for the near future include the release of his first cookbook Dominque Ansel: The Secret Recipes due out in October. There's no telling what he will do next so stay tuned for more.
