Here's one more reason to be jealous of Italy: the publisher Rizzoli behind Sophia Loren's 1971 cookbook In the Kitchen With Love republished her book with additional content and graphics. It's actually never out of date, you can always take advantage of some cooking advice from a Neapolitan mother who just happens to be an international star in her spare time.
Sexy, sultry and simply gorgeous, Loren is known as Italy's most iconic movie star. However, throughout her career the Academy Award winner was much more than a pretty face. When her cookbook was originally released in 1971, Loren proved to the world she was an excellent cook. She spent the months of her pregnancy in Geneva cooking everything she loved from her own childhood with a taste of the jet set life that embodied her adult years. The result? A fun and sensual recipe book that resembles her completely.
In the Kitchen With Love is chock-full of recipes from Loren's beloved Naples. She grew up in the outskirts of the city and became an actress after being a finalist in a beauty pageant. You'll find her favorite pasta and pizza recipes and a myriad of vegetable and meat dishes.
The beautiful actress has another cookbook to her name Sophia Loren's Recipes and Memories, an autobiography published back in 1999. So far, you can find paperback editions of both cookbooks on Amazon. Here's hoping the publishers also release new editons in English versions.
Meanwhile we've found a link to her famous Chicken Cacciatora Recipe on the Foodnetwork, try it and see if you can resist keeping your hands off the new edition, even if it's in Italian.
