We’ve featured chef Michael Voltaggio before on Fine Dining Lovers after the chef hosted a wonderful multi-sensory menu in New York. Now the chef is back with a food tv show in which he travels with journalist Mariana van Zeller to some of the biggest conflict zones around the world.
Called Breaking Borders, the idea is to challenge whether the foundation of great food can potentially bring people who would never normally sit at a table together.
The episode take place in places like Northern Ireland, Kashmir and Israel with the pair exploring some of the cultural, historical and social reasons behind the seperate conflicts.
The age old philosophy that food can be used to build a bridge is tested in each episode as Voltaggio cooks a meals for two conflicting sides in the hopes they can work out some of their differences.
The first episode aired last night on The Travel Channel and you can see a preview of what to expect below.
