Die-hard ramen lovers rejoiced when the ramen noodle burger made its debut and now a bigger, perhaps more monstrous, ramen hybrid has surfaced. Say hello to our new friend: the ramen taco.
Its crispy noodle shell is home to a mix ground beef, chopped lettuce, shredded cheese, tomatoes and sour cream. Who had the bright idea of giving a Tex-Mex twist to the good ol' ramen burger? It first surfaced on The Vulgar Chef blog, the Thrillist reports.
As far as we know it appears to be the world's first ramen taco - a concoction bound to excite a whole community of chefs and foodies. We're sure it's just a matter of time before the ramen taco develops a cult following and creeps into the menu of a hipster restaurant near you.
While we're talking about Frankenfood, what is it about hybrids that drive foodies nuts? People will stand in line for hours, even brave the cold, just to get a taste of foods like a Cronut. Would you do the same for a ramen taco? Tell us in the comments below.
Until you can get your hands on your very own ramen taco, feast your eyes on the trailer for Ramen Dreams:
