Americans have a love affair with pie and President Barack Obama is no exception. The Obamas are known for serving pies at every holiday gathering. This 4th of July will surely be another ocassion for the president to enjoy his favorite treat.
What recipe will the Obamas choose? There are many to choose from in First Lady Michelle Obama's book American Grown: the Story of the White House kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America. ''It is a well-known fact that President Obama loves pie, and in the pastry kitchen we rack our brains trying to create new combinations,'' writes Bill Yosses, White House executive pastry chef, in the introduction to the book.
If you want to eat like the president you can try your hand at making Yosses' White House Rhubarb Strawberry Crumble Pie, which is rumored to be one of Obama's favorites.
