Food and Design Events During FuoriSalone, Milan 2016
During Milan's Fuorisalone 2016 there will be many unmissable food events, from Eat Urban in zona Sant'Ambrogio to the temporary Restaurant at Besana.
After having had a glimpse of the unmissable restaurants and bars for visitors to Milan's annual Fuorisalone, it is now the turn of events at Salone del Mobile 2016.
For some years now Milan has put both design and cuisine together in this unique week mingling together events that are sometimes interesting other times, unique.
So if your foodie soul blends perfectly with your eye for design here are the events, installations, exhibitions and opportunities to eat well during the Fuorisalone 2016, from April 12th to 17th.
EAT URBAN - ZONA SANT'AMBROGIO DESIGN DISTRICT
Between the 12th and 17th April don's miss EAT URBAN, the Design Week Street Food Festival, in the Zona Sant'Ambrogio Design District, full of open air restaurants for the duration of Fuorisalone. The best food trucks will be parked up inside the splendid couryard setting of via San Vittore 49 for breakfast, brunch, lunch, aperitivo and dinnner. The food truck line-up includes: The Rolling Star, Imperial Asian Crossover, Ape Pasta Fresca, Tricolore Panini, Boca-Dillo, ApEmilia, Cucinando su ruote, Celestino Fuoridimente, Giamilla Bakery, Monaka Bike.

Dining with the Stars at Palazzo Parigi
Between the 12th and 16th of April, Palazzo Parigi, in collaboration with Electrolux i JRE - Jeunes Restaurateurs, will host five Four Hand dinners with a selection of top young Italian and international chefs. Events kick off on the 12th of April at 8pm with a Four Hand menu from Francesco Sposito (La Taverna Estia, 2 Michelin Stars) and German chef Eduard Jaisler. Other participating chefs include: Luca Marchini (L’erba del Re), Fabrizio Ferrari (Al Porticciolo 84), Danilo Bei (Emilio) and Alessandro Dal Degan (La Tana).

The Restaurant at the Rotonda Della Besana
A temporary restaurant in one of the most charming places in the city: the Rotonda della Besana will be transformed into one of the most exclusive restaurants in Milan for one week only. The structure, designed by Caesartston and English brand Tom Dixon, will come alive thanks to the culinary concepts of Arabeschi di Latte, who will bring fresh and varied Italian cuisine to the table.

The Magic Tree of Biodiversity at Garibaldi Station
The Nucara/Volpati duo will combine talents to create an ecological art installation in Garibaldi Station. Using waste materials they will create a large tree at the city station, in Isola, decorated with silhouettes of different pollinators and flowers, emphasizing eco-urban diversity. On Monday, April 11th there will be events related to honey including sensory tasting and analysis to recognize various honeys in collaboration with Meilizia / CONAPI.
YOJI TOKUYOSHI AND FOOD DESIGN AT SPAZIO LEXUS
An unmissable event in the Tortona area: in the Lexus space from 12th to 17th April there will be an interactive representation with the renowned Studio Formafantasma and Michelin starred chef Yoji Tokuyoshi with designers alongside that will complete the experience with the food design creations.

East Market-Special Design Weekend - 'The Collectors'
Furisalone will see a special edition of East Market, a particular market for amateurs and professionals passionate about vintage design and craftsmanship. From 16th to the 18th of April the market will focus entirely on collectors, with period pieces and rare comics and furnishings. And as always to accompany purchases there will be some of the best food trucks in Milan and the region.

ITTALA X ISSEY MIYAKE - PAUSE FOR HARMONY
On display in 10 Corso Como, from the 9th to 25th of April, you will find an installation inspired by the new line Ittala signed by the design studio of the great fashion designer Issey Miyake. The exhibition includes several sensory and interactive concepts to explore the collection.

Shine a Light at Kuka Loft
For the Fuorisalone, design and good food are mixed together in Kuka Loft for an event with show cooking and presentation of new glasses Open Up & Up Reveal as well as street food with Misha Sukyas & Nicola Delfino.
